#teamferal Cat Rescue and Adoptions VOLUNTEER WAIVER OF LIABILITY & HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT By signing below and by #TFCRA'S acknowledgment of my acceptance of the position as a Volunteer for #teamferal Cat Rescue and Adoptions,< I hereby accept a position as a Volunteer for #teamferal Cat Rescue and Adoptions(#TFCRA), upon the following terms, conditions & understandings: 1. My services to #TFCRA are provided strictly in a voluntary capacity as a Volunteer, and in no way as an employee of #TFCRA, and I understand that no employment agreement is intended by the Volunteer accepting the position as a Volunteer, and without any express or implied promise of salary, compensation or other payment of any kind whatsoever. 2. My services are furnished without any employment-type benefits, including employment insurance programs, unemployment compensation, and workers compensation accrual in any form, vacations, or sick time. 3. I will familiarize myself & comply with #TFCRA policies and procedures applicable to Volunteers. In particular, I fully understand that #TFCRA expects high standards of moral and ethical treatment of animals under its care. I will adhere strictly to those standards in my capacity as a Volunteer. 4. I understand that I am a representative of #TFCRA, and I will present myself in a professional manner including good hygiene & clothing attire, or on any mode of social media. 5. I will not make decisions on behalf of the organization or the animals in the organization or provide opportunities that are not approved by the Board. Social Media and Community Outreach Policy 1. As an #TFCRA volunteer, you are the #TFCRA brand. Our brand attributes are: caring, respected, unwavering, compassionate, empathetic, and non-judgmental. Keep in mind what the #TFCRA name represents: that we are warm, friendly, and passionate, on the move, on the lookout for animals in need. 2. #TFCRA encourages open discussions and differing opinions; however, show consideration for others’ opinions and privacy and refrain from engaging in conversations that may be considered objectionable, obscene, insensitive or inflammatory. 3. #TFCRA values the conversations and contributions that arise from social media use. Always keep in mind your association with #TFCRA, use good judgment and make sure your profile settings and content are consistent with how you wish to represent yourself personally and professionally. 4. Avoid publishing anything that is disrespectful, damaging or potentially embarrassing to an individual or organization. 5. Always get permission prior to using the #TFCRA logo. 6. #TFCRA may remove, or request the removal of, any posts/publications in conflict with this policy. 7. Be the first to correct your mistakes. #TFCRA will monitor its sites regularly to ensure disclosure and truthfulness and attempt to correct all misstatements and misrepresentations. Release I understand that the handling of animals and other volunteer activities, including but not limited to rescue attempts, adoption events, fundraising events, and fostering on behalf of #TFCRA may place me in a hazardous situation and could result in death, injury to me or my personal property. I am aware of these risks, and of the inherent risks associated with working with animals. I understand that, while #TFCRA takes reasonable precautions to reduce such risks, those risks can never be wholly eliminated. I voluntarily assume full responsibility for any risk of loss, property damage, or personal injury that may be sustained by me, as a result of being engaged in such activity. In consideration for being permitted to volunteer with #TFCRA For and in consideration of #teamferal Cat Rescue and Adoptions accepting the undersigned as a Volunteer for #teamferal Cat Rescue and Adoptions, I hereby release, indemnify and hold harmless #TFCRA, and its officers, servants, agents, or employees from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, and causes of action (including claims for court costs and attorney’s fees) whatsoever arising out of or related to any loss, damage or injury, including death, that may be sustained by me or to any property belonging to me, whether caused by an animal, the sole or concurrent negligence of #TFCRA or otherwise, while volunteering at #TFCRA, or while in, on or upon any premises upon which #TFCRA’s activities are being conducted 1. I understand that #TFCRA does not maintain an insurance policy covering any circumstances arising from my participation in any volunteer activities. 2. I understand that public relations is an important part of a Volunteer’s activities on behalf of #TFCRA, I hereby authorize #TFCRA to use any photographs of me in its possession for public relations purposes. I ask that #TFCRA use reasonable efforts to give me advance notice of any such use, but such notification is not a condition to release photographs for public relations purposes. 3. In signing this release, I acknowledge that I have read the foregoing waiver of liability and hold harmless agreement, understand it and sign it voluntarily. I am at least 21 years of age & fully competent.
